Parrot Tote Bag: Art and Zero Waste
We designed a zero-waste pattern to make the most of a vintage cotton fabric (every bit of it was used), even for the straps. We finished the seams with a French seam technique to protect the raw edges and make the bag more durable.
But not just that! We also added a print of our original watercolor featuring a parrot:
The red-crowned Amazon (or Mexican red-headed Amazon) is a parrot species you can often spot in San Diego. You will hear them especially in Ocean Beach, but also across many neighborhoods, particularly during spring and summer.
Tips! This tote is perfect for farmers market hauls, beach days, a walk, study sessions, or a picnic. It’s a lovely way to treat yourself, or… to gift something made with intention and purpose.
Size: 16 inches (height) x 15 inches (width), Straps length 32 inches.
At Muxu Creations studio, the fabric products are made with upcycled materials from gorgeous swatches, reclaimed fabric, or rolls of deadstock fabric to prevent more waste from ending up in the landfill. Every scrap is valuable material for the next project.
This is a limited edition of this model.
How to take care of your tote bag: just use cold water with mild laundry soap to wash, rinse, and hang to dry (outside in!). Do not use the dryer.
Note: Colors could vary between monitors, displays, and actual products.
Thank you for supporting our artisanal products made in the US. All items are designed, created, and packaged in our studio in San Diego, California.
