About the products

  • Slow fashion is a specific way of making fashion, advocating for mindful consumerism, an alternative to mass production. Slow Fashion brings a change of thinking, wearing, and enjoying fashion focusing on the respect and care for the environment, makers, and people behind the production, acknowledging and valuing the time to create well-done products that last longer. At MuXu we reconnect the customer with the product, the creative process, and the maker, following sustainable practices and minimum waste. Check out more information about sustainability, slow fashion, and our values.

  • We do! All our products are ethically produced 100% in our studio in San Diego.

  • We are proud makers; Ainara is our designer and maker. We are skilled creatives that can create with our own hands what we imagine and send it to your place. You will have unique pieces, with a story and you will always know WHO made your clothing and accessories. Let’s change the narrative and wear pieces that make us happy, special, and coherent with our values.

We do not manufacture overseas; we keep the economy local. If you want to learn more about the multiplier effect and small business, click here.

  • These are the garments and accessories that we already made, and they are listed on our site. Each month, we release new creations that are first shared with our Perk Community.

  • These garments and accessories are not made yet and are customizable in some ways. We open limited spots for each product type approximately 6 times a year. Once you choose your options (fabric, sizes, prints), we create your unique made-to-order piece.

  • Each product description includes detailed measurements for accurate sizing. For any sizing questions, feel free to email us.

  • Yes! Explore our watercolors collection. Thank you for appreciating art!

  • MuXu eGift Cards are coming soon! Be the first to know by subscribing to our Perk Community.

  • To reduce waste, we create sustainable solutions. Instead of one single-use wrapping, we utilize upcycled fabric to make free reusable bags for your clothing and bigger accessories, and repurposed paper for your small accessories.

  • Shop our creations online 24/7 at our online shop. We also participate in markets and events throughout the year. Check our events calendar for details.

And of course, you can see our videos and pictures on social media (@muxu.creations)

  • Join our MuXu Perk Community to stay updated on new designs and exclusive releases. Sign up here or at the bottom of our site.

  • We gotcha! We have Gift Cards with different quantities to adjust you to your needs. They are for online purchases only (eGift Cards), and never expire! Click here to learn more about MuXu Gift Cards.

More questions

  • At MuXu, we believe in growing together and embracing the value of collaboration. We know that everyone has something special as a creator because being a true maker is being an artist. If you are true to yourself your creations are going to be unique as well. With this in mind, we look for visibility for ourselves and others by participating in podcasts, interviews, events, art shows… you name it, and we will be there to let the people know about MuXu: Slow Fashion, Sustainability, Maker, Art, and Community.

If you are interested in collaborating or featuring our Slow Fashion brand, please reach out.

  • We are not a factory chain, each creation at MuXu is meticulously made from start to finish by our own hands. Bu being a Slow Fashion brand we ensure quality, attention to detail, and love in every piece. That being said, we do accept batch orders! Feel free to contact us to discuss the number of items and timeframe.

For example, we can efficiently print a large order of our original greeting cards within a relatively short period. However, as we work with rescued fabrics, exact replicas of fabric-based items are not possible (and that is not our goal either). Instead, you will receive a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind items. We will provide pictures of available fabrics for you to choose from and determine the quantity of each fabric we can use for your order.

  • Fashion is the second largest polluting industry. With the garments and fabrics that already exist, we have enough to clothe the next 6 generations of humans… Let’s be part of the solution. We rescue gorgeous fabrics from ending up in the landfill by thrifting, buying deadstock, swatches, and remanent materials, accepting donations, transforming vintage garments, trading with other makers, and building a community of artisans and sewists that share with each other who sell fabric that someone does not want any more. We prioritize giving existing materials a functional and stylish new life.

  • If you want to donate fabrics or garments, thank you! Please send us a picture of the pieces you wish to donate, so we can assess the kind and amount of fabric. If we are unable to accept them at that moment, we will connect with our community of makers/artists to find a suitable use for your donation.

If you want us to make you a custom order with that fabric or garment that you do not use anymore or have an emotional attachment to you, write us an email to explore possibilities, viability, prices, and timeframes to transform it. Here are some examples of custom orders we have done: wristlet clutches from shirts, shoulder bags and book sleeves from cover pillows, cover pillows from sweaters, and patchwork crossbody bags from jeans.

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal, and Venmo (@muxucreations)
